Pico House
The Pico House was built in 1870 as the most lavish hotel in Southern California. The hotel opened with 80 rooms, 21 parlors, and a French restaurant built around a courtyard with an exotic bird aviary. The building went through several setbacks a decade after its initial opening. The Pico House has mostly been restored. The first floor is used for art exhibits and community meetings. The second and third floors are not occupied. Free tours are available.
